When to replace each part - GMC Sierra 1500 2019-2026

The schedule above is organized by mileage. This is the same information organized by part, for when you already know what you are replacing and just need the interval.

Engine oil & filterGM Oil Life Monitor - typically 7,500 mi; oil and filter must be changed at least once a year regardless of indicated life; if the monitor is reset accidentally, change the oil within 3,000 mi of the last change
Transmission fluid
  • 2019-2021: Change fluid and filter every 45,000 mi under severe duty (towing/trailering/off-road); no fixed normal-duty mileage is printed - the manual folds normal-duty transmission condition into the annual Multi-Point Vehicle Inspection rather than a mileage row
  • 2022-2026: Change fluid and filter every 45,000 mi under severe duty (towing/trailering/off-road) - unchanged from MY2019-2021
Coolant
  • 2019-2021: Every 150,000 mi or 5 years, whichever comes first
  • 2022-2026: Every 150,000 mi or 6 years, whichever comes first, from MY2023 (extended from the 5-year interval in MY2019-2022)
Spark plugs2.7L Turbo: every 60,000 mi (ACDelco 41-106-IP). 5.3L V8, 6.2L V8, and 4.3L V6: every 97,500 mi (ACDelco 41-114)
Engine air filterIf not equipped with the Engine Air Filter Life system: replace every 45,000 mi or 4 years, whichever comes first. If equipped with the life system (most trims): replace when the DIC displays a message, with no fixed mileage backstop
Cabin air filterReplace every 22,500 mi or 2 years, whichever comes first
BrakesInspect with each tire rotation; no separate fixed-mileage brake inspection line in the owner's manual
TiresRotate every 7,500 mi; GM does not publish a fixed differential/axle fluid interval - "See your dealer" is the manual's entire entry for that fluid
BatteryTest annually after 3 years; typical service life 4-5 years
