Honda A13 Service Code: What It Means and What It Costs

What Honda A13 includes

• Replace engine oil (the A): The oil life monitor called this one done - unrelated to whether the transmission fluid clock has also run out.
• Reset the oil life monitor: Standard step after any A service. This does not reset the transmission fluid interval, which is tracked separately.
• Rotate tires (the 1): Front tires wear faster on a front-wheel-drive Honda. Rotating at oil-service intervals keeps the set aging together.
• Replace transmission fluid (the 3): On a CVT, this means a Honda-specific CVT fluid (HCF-2 or the current equivalent) - not generic ATF, which can damage a CVT. On a conventional automatic it means the correct Honda ATF for that transmission. AWD models also get the transfer case fluid.

A13 pairs the smallest Honda service with one of the more expensive sub-codes. A means change the engine oil. 1 means rotate the tires. 3 means replace the transmission fluid - and, on all-wheel-drive models, the transfer case fluid too.
